Saturday 25th February

This week’s Lisburn League fixture for the Sky Blues U15 squad was against Sunnyside.  The Sky Blues started well in this game and found themselves 2 goals ahead by the interval.  In the second period Sunnyside pulled a goal back but any chance of a comeback was ruled out when the Apex side scored three times to deservedly win the game.  Special mention in this match goes to Curtis Jones who scored a hat trick in this game.

Saturday 18th February

It was Ballymena who provided the opposition for the Apex U15 squad in a Lisburn League fixture.  The Sky Blues took control of this game early in the first period with goals from Kenny Grealey and Nathan Gray.  The Sky Blues kept possession of the ball for long periods while Ballymena were doing most of their work off the ball.  As the game entered its closing stages Ballymena pulled a goal back but this proved to be only a consolation as the Sky Blues ran out worthy winners.

Apex Sky Blues 2  Ballymena 1

Saturday 21st January

The Apex U15 squad opponents on Saturday was provided by Greenisland.  The Sky Blues side had 4 key players unavailable for this game but the remainder of the squad that was available gave a good account of themselves.  Both sides attempted to get the ball down as much as possible which lead to a good game to watch.  Greenisland showed their strength going forward and the Apex defence had to be at their best to keep their opponents lively attack at bay.  A goal in each half secured the win for Greenisland in a game that was played in both a competitive and sporting manner which was a credit to both sets of players.

Saturday 26th November

The Sky Blues Under 15’s played Ards in what turned out to be a thrilling game for all those spectating.  This game was end to end with both sides attacking at every opportunity.  In a close first period the Sky Blues took a 1-0 advantage into the interval which was probably a fair reflection of the first half play.  In the second half both defences had their work cut out as the goalscoring went back and forward between the two sides.  At the end of an entertaining game it was the Sky Blues who came out the 4-3 winners of which overall they deserved for the hard work and commitment that they had put into the game.  Unfortunately the result was overshadowed with the news that Stephen Craig suffered a broken ankle in the game which will keep him out of action for a number of weeks and the best wishes of all the Under 15 squad and all those associated with Apex Sky Blue send Stephen their sincere best wishes for a speedy recovery.

watching with a good entertaining game.  The Sky Blues got stronger as
the game went on and they were rewarded for their effort when Stephen
Craig ran onto a defence splitting pass and slotted the ball past the
keeper for the equaliser.  Both sides went close with attempts for a

The Under 15's game was played in both a sporting and competitive manner
with both sides playing good football at every opportunity.  It was

for the Sky Blues to pull level by halftime through a well taken goal by
Curtis Jones.  In the second period the game was end to end as both
sides went in search of a winner.  It was Banbridge who got their noses
in front with 10 minutes remaining and as the Sky Blues pushed forward
in search of another equaliser it was Banbridge who made the game safe

Apex Sky Blues 1-3 Banbridge

Saturday 24th September

The Apex Under 15's match this week was against Lisburn Youth with
Suffolk playing fields providing the venue.  The scoreline in this
fixture was an unfair reflection of the game itself.  Both sides
contributed to a well contested and sporting game with Lisburn looking
the more dangerous in attack but with the Sky Blues posing a serious
threat on the counter attack.  The game was decided mainly on defensive
errors made by the Sky Blues and to Lisburns credit good finishing when
those errors were made.  At the fulltime whistle Lisburn had scored on 5
occasions to give what would appear to be a comfortable win when in fact
it was a lot closer than the score suggests.

Apex Sky Blues 0  Lisburn Youth 5

Saturday 17th September

The Apex Under 15's match this week was against Loughgall with Wallace
Park providing the venue.  Loughgall started strongly in this game and
the Apex defence found themselves to be under pressure early in the
first half.  The Loughgall attack was in great form as the produced
efforts on the Apex goal from both the right and left sides with the Sky
Blues mainly providing a threat on the counter attack.  At the final
whistle Loughgall had deservedly won the fixture through their good play
throughout the team.

Apex Sky Blues 0  Loughgall 5

Saturday 10th September

After last week's opening win against Ballymena the Apex Sky Blues Under
15's started their game against Larne full of confidence.  There was
only 2 minutes on the clock when Gary Graham opened the scoring for the
Sky Blues and they doubled their advantage soon after when Stephen
Silverson scored a well struck free kick.  The Sky Blues played good tem
football in the first half which saw them strike the woodwork 3 times
but as the half came to a close Larne got themselves a foothold in the
game when they converted a penalty.  The second half was similar to the
first with the Sky Blues having most of the play and Larne being
dangerous on the break.  Ten minutes from time the result was put beyond
doubt when Ryan Large renewed the Sky Blues 2 goal lead when he put the
ball into the bottom corner of the Larne net after good work from Nathan
Gray down the right side.

Apex Sky Blues 3  Larne 1

played Ballymena at Lisburn Recreation.  It was the Sky Blues who opened
the scoring in this game when Curtis jones slotted the ball into the

a 1-0 scoreline.  In the second half the Sky Blues went 2-0 ahead
through a well taken goal by Kenny Grealey only for Ballymena to pull a
goal back and set up an exciting finish.  It was the Sky Blues who came
through the stronger in the closing stages and after good play through
the midfield they secured the win and the points when Ryan McAllister
scored from 20yards out for the Sky Blues third goal of the game.
