MATCH REPORTS
Saturday 11th March
The Apex U13's who play in the Lisburn league had no fixture this week and played a friendly against Whitehead Eagles. This game was played in good spirit with the game going from end to end. At the fulltime whistle it was the Sky Blues who came out on top of what was an entertaining game with a 2-1 scoreline.

Saturday 25th February
It was Ards youth who provided the opposition for the Apex U13 squad in the Lisburn league. The first half was an even game with both defences playing well therefore chances were limited at either end and so the sides went in level 0-0 at the break. The second period was similar to the first but midway through the half it was Ards who took one of their chances for what proved to be the winner in a tight game.

Saturday 18th February
The Sky Blues U13 squad played Loughside in a Lisburn League fixture. After the opening exchanges it was Loughside who got on top in this game and by halftime they were in control with a 3-0 scoreline. The second half was similar to the first with the Apex side having to be strong in defence to keep a lively Loughside attack under control. At the final whistle Loughside had added a further three goals to their tally to run out winners on the day.

Saturday 4th February
This week the Apex u13 squad played Lisburn Wanderers in their Lisburn League fixture. This proved to be a great game with the play going from end to end from first to last whistle. At the halftime break the sides were level at 1-1 and the second half was similar to the first with both teams looking to win the game. At fulltime the points were shared with both sides scoring another goal each in what was an exciting game for all those spectating.

Saturday 28th January
It was Banbridge who provided the opposition for the Apex U13 squad this week in the Lisburn League. Banbridge opened the scoring after 15 minutes play in this game and doubled their advantage on the halftime whistle in what had been an even first half apart from the score. Banbridge scored early in the second half to take control of the game and in the closing stages scored a further two goals to complete a good all round performance.

Saturday 21st January
It was Lurgan providing the opponents for the Sky Blues U13 Lisburn League team. In a closely contested first half the sides went into the interval level at 1-1 with both sides scoring a super goal apiece. In the second half Lurgan proved to be the stronger of the two sides as the half progressed. Each side went close to go in front but out of all the chances created it was Lurgan who made the most of theirs when the went in front with ten minutes remaining in the game. The Sky Blues pressed men forward in the remaining minutes and put the Lurgan defence under pressure but their opponents stood firm to win the game 2-1.

Saturday 26th November
The Under 13’s played Shankill in what turned out to be close game from start to finish. Both sides played an attacking game but in the first half both defences came out on top to send the teams into the break level at 0-0. The second half was similar to the first with both sides pressing for that all important opening goal and it was Shankill who got the breakthrough with a well taken goal at the back post. As the game progressed and entered its final minutes Shankill made the result theirs when the Sky Blues through caution to the wind by pushing players forward in search of an equaliser and where caught by a swift counter attack to give a final score of 2-0.

The Sky Blues Under 13's Lisburn League Shield fixture was against Lisburn Wanderers at Glenmore. The Sky Blues opened the scoring only for the opposition to equalise before the break. In an end to end second period it was Lisburn who got the winner in what was a great entertaining game.

Saturday 29th October
This week's Lisburn League fixture for the Apex Under 13's was against Shankill. In a closely contested first half it was the Sky Blues who made better of their chances and went into the break 1-0 in front. Two quick goals early in the second half secured the result and the points for the Sky Blues with Shankill scoring a consolation goal for their efforts in the closing minutes.

Saturday 22nd October
Holywood provided the opposition for the Sky Blues Under 13's in the Lisburn League with the game taking place at Barbour playing fields. This game was an end to end match with both sides creating goalscoring opportunities and at the halftime whistle Hollywood went in 2-1 in front. The second half was great entertainment for all those watching as the scoring went to 2-2 and then 3-3. As the game entered the last 5 minutes and both sides were pressing for a winner it was Hollywood who got the fourth to win the game on the day

Saturday 8th October
The Sky Blues U13's game against Banbridge was played at Wallace Park and after the opening exchanges Banbridge proved to be too strong for the Apex side on the day. The Sky Blues stuck to the task and went close on a number of occasions but the Banbridge defence stood firm and kept a clean sheet. The game remained scoreless until 5 minutes before the break when Banbridge scored two quick goals to put them firmly in control at the break. In the second period Banbridge showed their strength and at the fulltime whistle three more goals made sure of the win.

Saturday 1st October
In the Under 13 game the opposition proved to be to strong for the Apex side on the day and good attacking football down both flanks had the Apex defence under pressure for most of the game. With Lisburn doing most of the attacking the Sky Blues posed a threat mainly on the break but the Lisburn defence and keeper were strong enough to keep a clean sheet. At fulltime Lisburn had deservedly won the game and the points by 6-0.

Saturday 24th September
The Sky Blues Under 13's league fixture against Loughgall was played at Lisburn Recreation. It was Loughgall who opened the scoring in this game only for the Sky Blues to hit back with an equaliser through David McAteer send the teams in level at the interval at 1-1. The second half was evenly contested with both sides pressing forward in search of a winner. As the game entered injury time and the Sky Blues felt they had done enough to earn a point it was Loughgall who grabbed themselves a winner when a through ball found an unmarked attacker who slotted the ball home to win the game for his side.

Saturday 17th September
The Sky Blues Under 13's league fixture against Larne was played at Suffolk playing fields. Larne opened the scoring after ten minutes play in this game only for to see the Sky Blues strike back with an equaliser to send the teams in level at the break with a 1-1 scoreline. In the second half it was the Sky Blues who took control of the game with 2 quick goals to give them a 3-1 advantage. Larne pushed players forward in an attempt to get back into the game but in the last 10 minutes the Apex side added a further 2 gaols to their tally to give them the points and a convincing win on the day.

Saturday 10th September
In the Sky Blues Under 13 match the opening exchanges were even as both sides sounded each other out. As the game progressed it was Ballymena who came out as the stronger of the 2 sides. They done most of the attacking in the game with the Sky Blues providing a threat on the counter attack and by fulltime Ballymena had scored on 3 occasions with the Apex attack unable to unlock a strong Ballymena defence.

Saturday 3rd September
The first league game in the Lisburn Youth League was at Glenmore with Lurgan providing the opposition. In a tight first half the Sky Blues went into the interval leading by 1-0 after Jason Cairns scored from 25 yards. In the second half Lurgan started strongly and scored three quick goals to take control of the game. As the game entered its final minutes and with the Apex team committing men forward in an attempt to get back into the game Lurgan scored on the counter attack to give themselves the points from this fixture.
